Should we use our super rich growing ground for farmland, or use it for housing developments. I see a lot of great farmland go to houses just since I am married since 1972 and we bought a house. People must live somewhere? We must grow food too. So goes the great debate, I guess forever.
This farm next to the AMISH farm below, about a mile from my house.
Housing developments creeping up on our pristine and very valuable farm land!
The second problem in Lancaster County, the AMISH are having trouble finding farm land at reasonable prices for their children. Forcing AMISH families to settle elsewhere for cheaper land.
This AMISH farm is two brothers who got a 70 year loan from their church. They figure the children will finish paying it off. Same farm as above. This is the new garage just built for their buggies and the new part of the house.
The same farm as above. Notice no electric or telephone lines to buildings. They live simply.
This is the other brother's family farm. connected to his brother's farm above. They are Amish too, no electric or telephone lines here either.
